The BEST (Building Economic Success Together) Coalition is a partnership of local non-profit organizations operating with a grant from the Danville Regional Foundation. BEST works toward two primary objectives:

1. Get low-income residents of our region help claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit that will put more money into their pockets.

2. Assist families and individuals in becoming more financially stable.

The Earned Income Tax Credit is a federal program designed to assist low-income families and individuals. Many people who qualify for this tax credit are unaware of its existence. The BEST Initiative seeks to educate people on their rights and opportunities for additional tax relief.

The initiative covers the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County in Virginia as well as Caswell County in North Carolina.
